One year later

“In short, Washington spent nearly $3 billion to raise the price of mobility for drivers on a budget.”

A year later: Cash for Clunkers is even dumber than our wildest imagination could have predicted. Basically, the program took money from a deeply indebted government in a tight credit market in the middle of a severe recession and funneled it to wealthy people who were likely going to buy cars anyway. As a bonus, dealerships were forced to destroy the old cars that otherwise would have contributed to the supply of used vehicles consequently driving up the cost of cars for people who are least likely to be able to afford them in the first place. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but the more I see of this administration, the more I’m convinced that they are on a dedicated mission to destroy as much wealth as possible. How did we get here?
