Garbage Picking

“The chips will allow city workers to monitor how often residents roll carts to the curb for collection. If a chip show(s) a recyclable cart hasn’t been brought to the curb in weeks, a trash supervisor will sort through the trash for recyclables.”

This is what happens with unlimited government. It’s not good for the poor or beneficial to the environment even if that’s the original aim. It always turns into a bloated, ignorant, arrogant, belligerent nuisance. How else would you describe spending millions of your tax dollars to computerize your garbage cans and paying people to dig through your trash? To top it off, the Crap Police will fine you a hundred bucks if you put a bottle in the can container or if you fold a cardboard box in an unsatisfactory shape. In Europe, they’re actually fining people for throwing out too much trash. If left unchecked by the population, soon these kooks will come up with technology to track how much toilet paper you use after each trip to the john.

“We’re trying to automate our system to be a more efficient operation,” Owens said. “This chip will assist us in doing our job better.”

And what an important job it is, picking through the garbage of private citizens to make sure they’re recycling. In New York City the megalomaniac in the Mayor’s office and his sidekick in the City Council want to ban smoking everywhere. When you give government an inch, it takes a mile. Then it takes your pants. When will we learn?
